About the Event
Join us for the Alliance for Addiction Solutions Monthly Public Forum, featuring Jayne Reynolds, BCHN, and her insightful talk on "Beyond Symptoms: Integrating TCM Five Element Patterns with Amino Acid Therapy for Mood and Behavioral Health"
About the Topic:
Mental health symptoms rarely occur in isolation. Anxiety, overwhelm, grief, fear, irritability, emotional eating, low motivation, and burnout often occur alongside changes in digestion, sleep, energy, stress resilience, and nutritional status.
This presentation explores how Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Five Element framework can serve as a pattern-recognition tool alongside modern nutritional and amino acid approaches to mood support. Rather than presenting the Five Elements as a diagnostic model, this session examines how traditional pattern recognition may complement contemporary nutritional strategies for supporting emotional well-being.
Participants will learn how common Five Element presentations may align with neurotransmitter-related symptom patterns frequently observed in clinical practice, including serotonin, GABA, catecholamine, and endorphin-related symptom clusters.
Drawing on nutritional psychiatry, amino acid therapy, and functional nutrition principles, attendees will gain practical insights into how diet, nutrient status, stress physiology, and targeted amino acid support may influence mood and behavior.
Attendees will leave with an introductory framework for integrating traditional pattern assessment with evidence-informed nutritional strategies to support emotional well-being and recovery.
